Description

This is my latest widefield shot on M106 with a fairly deep integration. In the galaxy season, with such a short focal length there's not much you can shoot, but in this image I tried to show how many galaxies there are in a relatively small part of the sky.

The weather hasn't been really great recently so I decided to stop exposing on this project (nights are also getting shorter and the object is starting to set early in the night). On a span of 3 months I managed to capture around 21 hours of exposure (mainly concentrated in the first 3 nights and the other ones with just 1 hour of exposure per night due to clouds).

In the the meantime I also bought a new mount, the Sky-Watcher HEQ5 PRO, which proved to be a nice upgrade over the Star Adventurer and really great at this focal length/image scale.

In the end, despite the short focal length, I think the image turned quite detailed especially around the core of M106. Hope you like it!
