Description

Finally, a rare, relatively clear night to try out the star tracker. The object tracked was the Orion Nebula (M42) on the right. This lens suffers from aberration at F/2.0 around the corners hence the trailing artifacts on the left, around the Flame and Horsehead Nebula; they came out well despite the artifacts, and I included them in the final picture.

The Orion nebula is one of the brightest nebula visible to the naked eye and the closest star formation region to earth. It is a diffuse nebula ~1344 ly away in the constellation of Orion.

RGB 345×30s at ISO 400 from stock Sony A6000 and Samyang 135mm F/2.0 lens on Star Adventurer GTI. Taken on 15-16 Dec 2022 in Bangalore, India. Bortle Class 8.

Processed in PixInsight.
