Description

I collected 9 nights' worth of data on the Dolphin in late January and early February, much around the full moon.  From where I live, this target sat above the Tucson light dome at the Meridian.  I found that the L-Enhance filter worked well but did not fully suppress the increased background light of the Moon and city, so this is an integration of just the first (and by far the best) night's data.  I see increased sharpness in the stack of all 9 nights, but the contrast was much better and easier to work with in this image. That helped given the dimness of the target.  Will post a version with the stack of all nights soon for comparison.

Title: Rev 2 Drizzled

Description: More painstaking work to bring out the dimmer parts of the nebula from the background, and abandoned failed attempt in v1 to dim Urda.

Title: Reprocessed with Foraxx Palette

Description: I reprocessed this favorite image in the Foraxx palette (using Paulyman Astro's OSC Foraxx workflow) and found it much easier to bring out the blue. In fact, I had to work (with less than perfect results) to bring out the Ha signal.

Title: Reprocessed 2024

Description: Here is a reprocessed version of the Dolphin using all the new Croman and Blanshan tools of the last year or so. It is also based on all the data I collected, not just one night (see original description). I'd like to think I'm also a bit better at post-processing than I was a year ago. Comments and suggestions for improvement welcome as always.
