Description

Lying in a crossroad of constellations we can find this interesting wide field image full of nebulae of different kinds. NGC 1333 is the reflection nebula in the corner of the image and is one of the most interesting objects of this field. It can be located in the Perseus constellation, just in the border with the Aries and Taurus constellations, and it lies some 1,000 light-years away from us. The image captured using LRGB and also Ha filters, shows the small emission nebulae in its center, that comes from several Herbig-Haro objects, jets and shocked glowing gas emanating from recently formed stars.

To capture this image I spent several January 2023 nights while I was waiting for the comet C/2022 E3 to rise above the horizon. Moonless nights that allowed me to gather some good broadband data that I mixed with some Ha data to show all the emission nebulae that's hidden behind this dark nebula field.Broadband filters (R, G, B) have been used to capture the star's colors.

The full image covers an area of 20 full moons (4º26' x 2º55') at a resolution of 2.59"/pixel.
