Description

My winter 2022 narrowband target; NGC6334 in the constellation Scorpius at around 5500 light years away. The nebula has a very real resemblance to a paw print in the heavens hence the common name of the Cat's Paw Nebula. Another fine example of a large, bright emission nebula that blesses the southern sky the over winter/spring period. It responds well to all three [SII], H-alpha, and [OIII] filters to give a rich and colorful SHO composite. I'm certainly glad it wasn't any larger as it only just fit in my field-of-view. Represented in SHO Hubble palette with true color (RGB) stars.
