Description

The Bubble Nebula is located about 7,100 light years from Earth towards the constellation Cassiopeia.  It is the product of stellar winds and radiation from a very luminous star interacting with the surrounding molecular cloud.  The star responsible is seen towards the Bubble's upper left and is thought to be 45 times as massive, and hundreds of thousands times brighter, than our sun.
