Description

Trying to capture Mars at last this apparition and before it starts shrinking significantly.  Freezing cold but above average seeing on the night of 9 December.  6 videos for a total of 260K frames captured in FireCapture.  25% kept in PIPP, then 25% of those stacked in AS!3.  Individual frames wavelet sharpened in Registax 6, then aligned and combined in WinJupos, then further sharpening in Registax, Photoshop and AstroSurface.
A few major features visible (Olympus Rupes and Mons are prominent, as are the Tharsis Montes).  The north pole ice cap as well as bluish clouds towards the south pole.
