Description

M33 has been a galaxy I wished to image as soon as possible!

Finally, at the beginning of December, a clear night sky! I used also the plate-solving techniques (Cartes du Ciel + PlateSolve2) with the APT platform for the first time, allowing to the main scope to center carefully the interesting area in APT.
In order to highlight the HII regions, I decided to capture light-frames both in RGB with a OSC camera (QHY294c) and also light-frames by using the L-enhance 2"dual-band filter!

I post-processed so independently the first group of RGB light-frames (with darks and flats respectively) and the second group of L-enhance filtered light-frames (with dark and flats respectively) in DSS and then combined all in PS!
I spent then several hours in post-processing (more or less 8-10).

But I loved when the HII regions appeared on the galaxy arms (like NGC595 and NGC604).
Also the region IC142 appear almost visible!

Here some technical details for the sake of completeness:
Main camera QHY294c (gain 1087, offset 40, no cooler activated).
- 14x240s light frames in RGB + 9 darks and 30 flats
-  5x600s light frames with the Optolong L-enhance 2" filter + 5 darks and 30 flats
In total around 1h46m total exposure.
Guide camera: QHY5L-II with a 9x50 finderscope self adapted as a guide-scope!
Mount: Celestron AVX.

Any comment is appreciated!
