Description

NGC 4236 is a Magellanic barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Draco. It seems to be a lesser-photographed object, perhaps because it lacks the appeal of some of the more structured and photogenic galaxies like the Whirlpool and Pinwheel galaxies. For me, it was a target that was well-placed at the time that I had a narrow window of opportunity to image something, and I hadn't shot it before. Imaged in LRGB on an evening when the moon was waxing gibbous and becoming fairly bright. Shot  in the mountains of Colorado at 8400 ft ASL under Bortle 4 skies. About 4.5 hours total integration.
