Description

This target deserves a longer focal length (image has been cropped) and probably a longer exposure but I am fascinated by this target and just wanted to get it into  my portfolio. NGC 2419 is the Intergalactic Wanderer - a giant globular cluster some 300,000 light years away with an orbit around the Milky Way that takes it takes it further out than the Magellanic Clouds. Wikipedia says that it takes three billion years to orbit the galaxy. It was also stated that it would be on the "Best and Brightest" list for an observer in the Andromeda Galaxy because of its location outside of the Milky Way. I used a Super Luminance on this image and applied HDRMT to it before combining with the RGB. That did seem to provide more detail than with just a standard Luminance.
