Description

I just received the Radian Triad Ultra Quad filter and had to do some testing with my OSC camera, bortel 6 and 85% moon. I've posted two images. The starless image is straight processing of the stacked image. The only thing is that I stretched the channels separately. The star colors were horrible, so I removed with Starnet++, cloned out most of the artifacts, and convoluted the background. The final revision is the same data but split out the Ha and Oiii in APP and processed as HOO with pixmath. Did lots of star reduction because again the star color is horrible. I like the Triad as seems sharper image compared to my L-eXtreme filter. Not sure it's worth the price, but I may sell my L-enhanced and L-extreme to make it less painful...after more testing and playing. To solve the star color problem, I finally ordered a filter wheel. I plan to take subs with the L-pro light pollution filter to get good color, and then take subs with the Triad. Process separately then use the stars from the L-pro. I think that will work. Please let me know if you have tried similar.
