Description

This object is a galaxy cluster located 340 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus at a declination of +27 degrees.

The largest galaxy in the image is NGC 7768, the large elliptical above and right of center. It is about 150,000 light years in diameter.

There are many interesting tiny galaxies in this field. Among my favorites are the 2 in the upper left corner (PGC 72716 & PGC 200175) and the odd ring-type galaxy at upper right (PGC 72600). And please don't miss the amazing ultra-thin long edge-on galaxy at the bottom of the image just right of center (not annotated).

If you enjoyed this Abell galaxy cluster and want to see more, please see my Astrobin collection of Abell galaxy clusters here.
