Description

How colorful is the heart of Rho Ophiuchus! As beautiful as the whole region can be, a tight framing over the heart reveals gorgeous dramatic details and colors!

IC 4603 is part of the colorful complex of the Rho Ophiuchus nebula. Blue clouds are formed by interstellar dust that shines with light reflected from the stars. The yellowish effects in this part of the nebula are material ejected by the giant star Antares which is not in the image, but its reflection is visible from below. Above, we can see the nascent forms of the complex Rho Ophiuchus nebula IC 4604. The dense dust clouds are opaque to visible light and obscure the background stars.

Thanks for watching and CS!
