Description

Copernicus (93 km wide), arguably the most beautiful crater on the near side of the moon, emerging from the dark as the sun rises over its western walls. The second prominent crater, at upper right, is Eratosthenes (58 km). This image is processed from a 1000-frame video through a 12" SCT with a 2X Barlow (F/20), and an ASI 130MM camera with an L filter. Seeing was about 5/10.
