Description

Last April 29th, my boyfriend and I went for a Milky Way session to the Torre d’en Rovira, on the West coast of the island of Ibiza, Spain. When we got there, we prepared our cameras. After everything was ready, we sat for dinner. The galactic core would be where we had planned at around 2.05 more or less, so we had decided to spend the waiting time shooting star trails. The night was completely clear, a bit damp, but with a coat and a hot cup of coffee, it felt perfect.

At exactly 1.03, I saw an object appearing on the dark sky. It was an amber spot of light, pretty big compared with the stars and it was surrounded by mist. When I saw it, I first checked my contact lenses.. no issue there and then I thought it could be getting cloudy, but not a cloud on the sky.. just around the light. Actually it was like a light in a misty bubble. It first looked still, but it was slowly moving to the North until we lost it on the horizon just by the tower I was shooting as the foreground for my startrails image.

I was lucky and my camera got all the images, exactly five with that object moving, which we later knew was the reentry of the rocket Angara 1.2. What a night!
