Description

This image is the result of combining sub-exposures from two different LPS filters. This image was also dithered during image acquisition using BackyardEOS and PHD Guiding software.

M27 (Dumbell Nebula)

The Dumbbell Nebula (also known as Apple Core Nebula, Messier 27, M 27, or NGC 6853 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecul, at a distance of about 1,360 light years. This planetary nebula is reasonably bright and is easily visible in binoculars. It is a popular observing target in amateur telescopes.
