Description

Bright emission nebula (IC 5146) surrounded by a dust cloud leading to the dark nebula B168. This object has surprisingly little Oiii compared to Ha and Sii: a Hb filter is preferred for visual observation? Perhaps for this reason, the usual synthetic HST+HAT palette produces strange orange-color in the nebula. I mixed the HaOiiiSii image using C8+Hyperstar 3 +Atik460ex with color data from my previous image using a one-shot camera (SXVR-M25c with Meade SN10) to get more natural, corrected color. Astrodon 5nm filters. Shot during August new moon at Grandview Campground, INYO, CA.
