Description

Had an awesome weekend at foxton with Horowhenua Astronomical Society, who organized the Astrophotography camp.

Unfortumately we did not get any clear skies, but we had a lot of talks and discussions with processing workshops which helped a lot. I am really blown away with what people do with processing to get all the details out.

All processing are tiny steps, but each step bring out another detail in the photo. Can't wait to have some clear skies and capture data for processing.

On our way back to auckland, Jonathan Green and i halted at Opotaka, Tokaanu Intake which was a steel mill but is now some sort of water intake facility.

It looked like a clear weather, but eventually it clouded and because we were near the lake at high altitude, there was a lot of moisture in the air, which made our gear wet.

I did get my iOptron Telescopes ZEQ25 out, but had issues with balancing and could not get a proper tracking at 90deg angles, but i did manage to get 2 minute exposures of LMC and SMC before it clouded and we packed up.

Here is a 120sec x 5 exposures, stacked using median stack in Photoshop.

In the Image you can see LMC (Large Magellan Cloud) , SMC (Small Magellan Cloud) and 47 Tucanae Globular Star Cluster.

Exif: 120sec, ISO 800, f2.8, 50mm on Canon 6D, 5 images tracked using ZEQ25
