M101 Pinwheel Galaxy in HaRGB

Continuing my recent theme of trying to add Ha data to my OSC RGB galaxy datasets, here is M101 Pinwheel Galaxy in HaRGB.

I already had 6 hours 20 mins of RGB data on this challenging target, 6h5m with the 8"RC @ 1625mm focal length and 6h20m with the ED80 @ 510mm focal length.

To this I've added 4 hours of Ha with the 8"RC @ 1100mm focal length, even with 900s subs it was tough to pull anything out.

PixInsight combined these with ease, subsequently processing it was a royal pain in the rear end...but that's M101 for you

Image Details:

AA8RC RGB - 3 hours 5 mins

23 x 300sec and 7 x 600sec Lights

SW ED80 - 3 hours 15 mins

13 x 900sec Lights

AA8RC Ha - 4 hours

16 x 900sec Lights.

All subs at 800iso, darks, flats and bias applied.

Altair Astro 8" RC (Carbon Fibre) 1625mm/F8 (RGB) or 1100mm/F5.4 (Ha)

Skywatcher Evostar 80 DS-PRO with Skywatcher 0.85 FR/FF @ F6.3

HEQ5 PRO Synscan with Rowan Belt Drive mod.

Canon 1000D (Full Spectrum Modded) + Astronomik CLS-CCD filter and Baader 2" 7nm Ha filter.

Total exposure of 10 hours 20 mins.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
