Description

This popular galactic trio of galaxies known as the Leo Triplet, in the constellation Leo is visible during the northern hemisphere spring and March equinox.

Members of the trio share a tail of gravitational interaction that has caused warping from tidal forces, affecting NGC 3628 to the upper right and Messier 66, upper left.

This was one of those cloudy, evening opportunities to captured the image of the group using 120 sub-frames at sixty second exposures each with no calibrated frames.

A Starizona Apex ED 0.65 Reducer/Flattener L-version (long), aided me in shortening the exposure time along with an Optolong L-Pro light pollution filter (LPO), used in hopes of reducing light pollution from Bortle 7 scale skies.
