Description

VMC200L with Canon 450D (modified) at red-zone backyard.

First (or the Final) version: This is with the .62 Vixen reducer for the VMC200L. 16x300" and ISO400. Imaging chain configured at f/6.

Version B: Near the same area, but using the Teleview PowerMate 2X. Practicing some short exposures. These are 53x60" at ISO 800. These ALL had to be manually aligned using PI DynamicAlignment because there were barely enough stars to align on automatically. Although not a good image, I'm keeping it as a reminder of just how painful it was to generate. I have no idea what f/stop this is at (maybe f/20). But this helps me understand why the autoguider won't work, and so while very zoomed in, I'm limited to about 90 second exposures at best. I can get the details, but it requires an obscene number of exposures that I'd never ever have the time to manually align. Much respect to those setup for very longer focal lengths (4000+mm).

Version C: from Jan 30 2016, 15x300" ISO 400, T3i/600D DSLR. Still need better data...
