Description

Sirius B star is approaching maximum elongation from it's parent Sirius A. I was not hopeful that I could image it with my equipment but I wanted to try all the same.

I took about 50 images varying camera settings from ISO 100 to 12800 and the exposure length from 1/100th of a second to 5 seconds. The best results were had around ISO 400 with a 4 second exposure. This image is a single exposure at those settings.

UPDATE 3-2-15

Revision 2 is from a 100 frame video shot on 2-21-15 with 1-60th exposures. Stacked using Registax and the best 50 frames. Still no cigar.

Update 3-7-15

Using the same data and plan as the 3-2-15 update but with data resized before the stack. Still no Sirius B.
