Description

First time posting a picture in a while. Very exciting stuff for me We've had a great time in the Keys this week and a backlog of data to process has accumulated for the first time in my life. I started with the Rho Ophiuchus Region as this is the only set I am sure I'm done with and I entered it into the astrophotography contest here. As it turns out, others liked it too since it won 1st place! I'm not thrilled with the noise, but the target doesn't come up till 4:30 here, leaving only about an hour and a half in which to grab subs. I decided a two panel mosaic would be fun over two nights. I'm still getting my bearings straight with this QHY8 + WO Star71 setup, but it has provided exactly what I hoped for and that is a very simple and easy to use photon vacuum. Every image this week has been full of dusty delight but I haven't quite figured out the color balance and saturation I want to get from it.

Version B is the full size image for better pixel peeping. It is a massive file made of drizzle stacked subs.

Version C is the full size image annotated with the main highlights of the target.
