Description

Arp 263 = NGC 3239 is an irregular galaxy in the constellation of Leo, that is believed to be a galatic merger, even if it appears to be a completely isolated object. If this is the case, it managed to capture the only "thing" existing in its vicinity. The numerous galaxies appearing close to it, are in reality much deeper in space. Its distance is approximately 10 MPc.

Below, in the wide-field image, Arp 43 = IC607 is a barred galaxy in Leo, 70-80 Mpc away from earth.
