Description

This is a different take on an amazing area of the sky. While not as stunningly beautiful as the higher resolution examples of the region, it may be even more mind boggling looking at this image. There are galaxies everywhere. The first lum frame that came in as a test sub with my new 683 convinced me I needed to go after this target, even from my red/white zone driveway. I borrowed from the Rista method here and killed this with quantity. There are over 400 frames in this image and it was reduced from the 600 or so frames I originally took. Once I can get an accurate annotation, I plan to share one of those, but the Coma Cluster is believed to have over 1000 galaxies and there are likely over 1500 in this framing. The processing in this image was a very fun challenge and about the complete opposite end of the spectrum compared to the PN I've been working on recently. Gradients were nasty, noise was high, and then there was the banding issue. While this was first light with my 683 WO Star71 combo, it will likely be the last light for a while as the camera is going back to QSI for inspection.

To really appreciate the whole wide field, please view this in full resolution and just browse the image. You'll run into faint fuzzies everywhere you look Anyways, as always C&C's are much appreciated and thanks for looking!
