Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a disturbed barred spiral galaxy located 110 million light years away in the constellation of Ophiuchus at a declination of +14 degrees.  This magnitude 13 galaxy spans 1.4 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 45,000 light years.

The structure of this galaxy is fascinating, with 1 strong arm extending up and ending in a star cloud.  Blue star clusters are seen in the lower half of the disk.  The yellow core looks barred to me.
