Description

IC 1805, known commonly as the Heart Nebula, is an emission nebula of ionized hydrogen and dark dust lanes in the constellation Cepheus.

This four panel mosaic image consists of 84 frames totaling 56 hours of exposure time. Individual exposures include 84 - 2400 second 5nm hydrogen alpha filtered frames captured using a Takahashi FSQ-106 refractor, QSI583wsg CCD camera, Astrodon filter and Astro-Physics Mach1 German equatorial mount. Image calibration and processing was accomplished using PixInsight.
