Description

Hard to get a lot of time in on this one. It just clears the rooftops in the southern sky then quickly peaks at the meridian so the 'scope has to flip itself over and recalibrate the autoguider tracking. And then it drops back down again. Shot binned 2x2 to speed up acquisition time and because my guiding isn't good enough to merit the higher resolution.

Looking forward to coming back to this when I have OIII and SII filters to do it in HST palette.

Version A: Full Ha frame

Version B: HST comparison

Version E: HaRGB version

Version F: Ha(HaR-G-HaB)-HaR-G-HaB version (details below)

Wanted to do a better job of integrating the Ha data with the RGB. Ended up combining Ha in to the R and B channels, then blended the combined new HaR-G-HaB in with the Ha for luminosity.

The RGB layer consists of:

HaR = 50% R with 50% Ha

G = G

HaB = 88% B with 12% Ha

HaR + G + HaB = HaR-G-HaB

Then ran each of the resulting hybrid channels through eXcalibrator to get proper RGB star balance to create a final HaR-G-HaB color image.

The Lum layer consists of:

Lum = 75% Ha + 25% HaR-G-HaB

Then lots of Photoshop tweaking. The resulting Version F handles my so-so color data much better than the previous Version E which was a more traditional HaRGB assembly.
