Description

NGC7013 is another object for which one finds only few higher resolution images on astrobin.NGC7013 has been classified  either as a spiral galaxy with tightly wound arms or as a lenticular galaxy  S0/a galaxy. it features an active galactic nucleus. NGC7013 is some 40 million ly away and located in the constellation Cygnus. Astrophotographically it is an interesting (and difficult) object owing to a fairly strong Galactic cirrus feature nearby. This combination together with a few relatively bright stars in the field makes it difficult to process: working out the faint cirrus/IFN (in particular under Bortle 5/6 skies) without blowing the halos of the bright stars. here is how far I got so far with NGC 7013 - probably this object needs (and deserves) considerably more exposure time and/or a darker sky.

Data were taken on 2023 Sept 21, 23, 24, 26, and October 3.
