Description

Description (Wikipedia)
It was initially thought that this could be a reflection nebula , an illuminated part of the dark nebula LDN  1551; later it was recognized as a cloud of ionized gas, belonging to the class of objects HH , cataloged as HH 102. [3] The distance of the object is estimated at 139  parsecs (453 light years ) and is located in front of the Cloud complex del Taurus , one of the star - forming regions of low-mass stars closest to the solar system ; [2]although apparently associated with Hyades, the two objects are not physically linked, as Hyades are in the foreground, just 151 light-years from the Sun.

Personal note
From a processing perspective one of the most challenging projects I have done so far. Needs a lot of data over many nights to bring down the noise in this low signal image. Getting the background right (not too red) and getting the colour of the dust clouds right (brownish) was difficult. I noticed that raising the colour saturation and applying LocalHistogramEqalization helped.

Workflow
Pixinsight: WBPP, DBE, RGB combi, BG & Color calib, EZ denoise, MaskStretch, ArcsynthStretch, curves, MLT, LocalHistogramEqalization.

Please let me know your feedback and your suggestions on how to improve further. Thank you!
