Description

NGC 6888 is an emission nebula located 5,000 light-years from Earth, in the constellation Cygnus. It was formed 250,000-400,000 years ago, when the solar winds created by a WR type star collided with the solar wind of a red giant star. This collision not only caused the particles to energize, it also created two shockwaves, one moving inward, and one moving outward.
