Description

A captivating snapshot of one of the night sky's most renowned deep-sky objects, the Eagle Nebula (M16). Nestled in the constellation Serpens and Sagittarius, respectively, these stellar nurseries are where the cosmic magic happens. The Eagle Nebula is a treasure trove of towering gas and dust columns, famously known as the "Pillars of Creation," a phrase coined by the Hubble Space Telescope team back in 1995. Officially tagged as Messier 16 or NGC 6611, it was first discovered by Swiss astronomer Jean-Philippe Loys de Chéseaux in 1745-46. Its richly detailed structures are a feast for astronomers—each 'pillar' is around 4 to 5 light-years tall!
