Description

From the Mollie Brown Observatory 01/28/21 . . . Thor’s Helmet (NGC 2359). This beautiful celestial creation is located just to the left of the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, and according to Wikipedia it’s almost 12,000 light years away and is 30 light years wide. It is composed of interstellar dust and gases which are illuminated by an extremely hot star in its center. This is a stack of 67 frames at 2 minutes each using the Meade 8” SCT, Orion G10 camera and LeNhance filter under a full moon.
