Description

This is a first-light image for me using HyperStar with the C9.25. I think this was not the best choice for a subject simply because it is now very low in the sky and the time window for capturing it is very short. But I had done this one in the past and I wanted to compare.

Anyway, I was very impressed with the ease of using the HyperStar. No problems focusing or collimating, although I think a little more diligence in the latter might be warranted.

But what I really like about this idea is that it provides the opportunity to image at the native FL of the primary, in this case F2.3. So you get fast, wide-field and larger aperture... a pretty good combination for a lot of thngs.

I still have work to do to get it tuned in, like cable routing to prevent strange diffraction artifacts and I really would like to find a solution to the reflections that I get with the Oiii filter but all in all I really like this... As always, any comments, suggestions, and criticism are greatly appreciated!

CS to all!

Mike
