Description

Attached is an image that I was able to capture over the last week. The target is Sh2-301 which is a bright emission nebula in Canis Major east southeast of Sirius. The nebula has some nice structure throughout and responds well with all the narrowband filters. You still need a good amount of exposure to pick up the fainter area seen on the right side. The nebula has an apparent diameter of about 9 arc minutes and a round-shape, we can see some dark lanes in the nebula. Sh2-301 is a nebula emitting H-alpha spectrum.
