Description

Another nice group of galaxies that is not  often featured on astrobin. NGC5965 is an edge-on spiral, I like the blue "tips". NGC 5963 complements this by giving us a face-on view. NGC5963 is of fairly low surface brightness with a bright core. For working these details out, the fabulous GHS script by @David Payne and @Mike Cranfield was quite helpful. in the upper right quadrant there is the lenslet/E-S0 radio galaxy NGC5969 and the Sa-type spiral NGC5971 with an AGN. So quite an ensemble. There is some feature at an angle of about 10h and a distance of 1-2 galaxy radii of NGC5971. Initially I worried to have some sort of reflection in my image train, but since I saw a faint structure of similar morphology in some of the other astrobin photos, it is probably real. Still need to track it down (for rainy days) ...

Data was taken on May 2, May 3, May 8, May 24, May 30, and June 2 (nights are short at 52°N)
