Description

Here we have a try at a beautiful galaxy NGC2903 in Leo.  This galaxy is located approximately 30 million light years away.  It is a barred spiral inclined 60° to the line of site to us.  The central portion of the galaxy seems to be very chaotic.  There is also an interesting dim blue irregular galaxy below the galaxy which is designated as UGC5086.

I tried to pull out the HII star forming regions with a bit of Hα integration and that seemed to work fairly well.  It is, however, easy to go overboard with that and I tried to err on the side of conservatism with the application of Ha.  It did however, really help me bring out the yellow in the core area of the galaxy.  I was pretty happy with the levels of detail too.

In any case, I hope you like this one...  Clear Skies, good health and Seasons' Greeting!
