Description

The Hydra Cluster of Galaxies

We are entering galaxy season. Happy with this image of the Hydra Cluster (or Abell 1060). A galaxy cluster that contains 157 bright galaxies, appearing in the constellation Hydra. The cluster spans about ten million light-years and has an unusually high proportion of dark matter. I took this on an iTelescope in Chile. A 20" Planewave over 4 hours. Processed in PixInsight and Photoshop.
