Description

Sometimes it's also called the Pinwheel galaxy and at a distance of only about 3 Mly, it's a relatively close neighbor to the Milky Way. Between travel, smoke, clouds, and the moon, I finally had a chance to grab a couple of nights of data on the Triangulum. I've tried before and never produced much of anything worth posting. This time I worked a bit harder at it. I went through a lot of problems getting the scope thermally stable but I finally grabbed just enough data before the weather changed. M33 is pretty big so it just overflows the field of the C14 at the native F/11 focal plane with a full frame sensor. When I feel motivated, I might try it at F/7, which might be a bit better match to the size of the object. It's pretty cool to look up close at all the nebula and objects in the spiral arms. C&C is always welcome!
