Description

I was very fortunate to have captured the galaxy NGC4647 when I was shooting M60 in my attempt to get all of the messier objects.  On the left, you can see my capture from just a couple weeks prior to the Supernova.

It wasn't until I was processing and uploading the image that I saw there was a supernova, and recognized that it was in the image I had processed just recently.

It's amazing to see, and to think, that this was an even caused by a single star, in a galaxy about 63 million light years away, and is just as bright, if not brighter then some of the stars shown in the image that are in our own galaxy.
