Description

Supernova 2013ej was discovered in M74 on July 25, 2013 by Lick Observatory Supernova Search, at about mag 13.5, rising to 12.6 two days later, and a peek of 12.4 on August 4 (10 days after discovery). The type of this supernova has been determined as type II by its spectrum and lightcurve.

I shot M74 two years ago for the novelty of capturing a supernova. I meant to go back last year but forgot. This year I finally made it back there. I was hoping to see some leftover affects. Maybe a change, however small, in the nearby galaxy structure or a wisp of nebula. Oh well, I can't find a single trace that it ever existed.
