Description

N49 is the brightest supernova remnant in the Large Magellanic Cloud. It is about 5000 years old. Don't have a lot else to say but the remnant still looks striking.

Processing details:

Red: hst_08110_01_wfpc2_f673n_wf_drz.fits (Sulfur II)

Green: hst_08110_01_wfpc2_f656n_wf_drz.fits (Hydrogen Alpha)

Blue: hst_08110_01_wfpc2_f502n_wf_drz.fits (Oxygen III)
