Description

Well . . . almost all of Simeis 147 , LOL! With recent weather I didn't have the patience for a 4 panel mosaic, so I have (almost) captured the supernova remnant in this 2 panel mosaic. I have colourised the Ha data too; my first attempt at this technique and I may try to improve on it.

If we have a spell of good weather spanning a few days, I might try to capture this difficult and faint nebula again . . . in 4 panels this time . When I was processing I could almost believe - was willing myself to believe - that if I expanded the image window, the rest of the nebula would just reveal itself!

Thanks for looking & CS!

Rev B: colourised version with Ha mapped to Red and Ha added as luminance in CieLab mode.

Rev C: a little more NR of the colour version

Rev D: more NR to the Ha mono
