Description

M27 is one of those objects that you can shoot in marginal conditions and something still comes out! lol. I was testing a GSO 8" F/4 Newtonian and trying to dial in the collimation. I struggled with my tools early in the afternoon, then when I used it, it was way off! At night, the tools I have are too hard to use, so I went to the old school out-of-focus star method. This was taken after the first round of that. I was close, but not quite close enough. Anyway, I'm posting it here to get the plate-solve dimensions. ;)

Oh, and before I forget, I used a 9x50 Orion Finder scope for guiding! It works, too! I had heard about it working, but I had to do it myself to believe. Saved a ton of weight... my GSO 8" Newt/Finder Scope combo is lighter than my 6" Meade SN-6 and TV-85 imaging combo and my SN-8/102mm Achromat combo. I'll have to try it with my C-8 one day, too. that would be awesome if it works on that.
