Description

NGC5128 showing recent Supernova SN2016adj, next to the bright star in the middle gas belt. Taken with my RC08 on a NEQ6 mount with a Canon 450D full spectrum and cold finger modified DSLR. Image details are: 20 * 360" guided subs taken with sensor at 1C, stacked in DSS with flats, darks, and offset bias frames (all at 1C). Minor processing in Photoshop, just auto levels and bit of stretch and crop to reduce size and show up the SN.

The Supernova is the small orange coloured star at the lower left (8pm position) which appears to be next to the bright star in the middle gas belt of the galaxy, but the distances are obviously different in respect to earth. Go to the full size image to see the SN better.
