Description

Comet Hergenrother taken Halloween night, or Nov 1st, 2012, 00:15 in Universal Time. The nearly full moon rose up during the shoot and started to wash out the faint tail regions. I had enough data with minimal moonlight interference to make a decent image out of it, however.

I'm still experimenting with a GSO 8 Inch F/4 Newtonian. It has a three-vane spider which makes 6 diffraction spikes! I don't like that. There are also some issues with the mirror, focuser and collimation, among other things.

A 50mm finder as a guide scope is also being tried out here. The rig is really light, if anything. My mount loves it. lol
