Description

My third attempt at the Leo Triplet, using just over 4hours of OSC data taken last night with my RC8 and 2.5hours of L-band data taken with Chilescope.

The L-band data helps to counteract the poor seeing at my site - exacerbated by the Leo triplet never getting about 30degrees from my shed.  And the OSC data helps counteract my general incompetence at LRGB imaging.  Add to this the avialability of the RC Astro tools,  I though I might be able to do a bit better than my last two attempts.

Overall, I am pleased with the result.  I picked up the tidal tail in the Hamburger galaxy, and BXT was able to pull out a lot of detail.   This is my second L-OSC image (the first being the Angel nebula) and I must admit I am quite enjoying this way of doing things.  Not sure whether or not it is the correct thing to do or not, but this is certainly the version of the Leo Triplet I am most happy with.  Not least since it was imaged exclusively below an airmass of 2 for the colour data.
