Description

A deep image of M 51, the Whirlpool Galaxy, peeping through the integrated flux nebula. I've not noticed this in other images of M 51 before but perhaps I didn't look hard enough? Wise Band 3 data of the area shows some of the same structures so it does appear to be real.
