Description

The huge Eridanus Loop (20x20 deg FOV here). The "bright" eastern filament is also known as Sh2-245, and I'd imaged that previously (http://www.astrobin.com/144562/) with a 180mm f.l. lens. I wanted to try an image of most of the Loop, but with more detail than my earlier attempts with a Nikon 50mm f.l. lens. Hence this compromise focal length and larger detector. Pentax lens stopped down to f/4 to improve the quality of the star images in the corners. It has taken several years to accumulate the necessary integration time, but this is what I have to date. Sub-frame calibration and combining in Maxim, no stretching or sharpening as there isn't enough signal for that.
