Description

M81(Bode's Galaxy) and M82(Cigar Galaxy) are a pair of galaxies about 12 million light years away in the constellation Ursa Major. Looking to the north towards this pair goes through high galactic latitude nebulae that is illuminated by the flux from the stars in our Milky Way. These faint clouds are known as the Integrated Flux Nebulae (IFN).

This is my version of M81 and M82. Using my widefield lens I did not get much resolution on the galaxies but I was able to pick up some of the IFN. This image was captured over 2 nights, with relatively poor seeing compared to what I usually experience, using the 135mm lens at f/2.8.
